Visiting Artist’s Talk – Laura Lancaster

For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk (VAT), we welcome painter Laura Lancaster.

Laura Lancaster is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Since graduating from Northumbria University in 2001, she has built an international reputation through numerous exhibitions, projects and publications.

She has had solo exhibitions at The New Art Gallery Walsall (2016), Workplace Gallery (London 2018), Sargent's Daughters (New York, 2015), Wooson Gallery (Korea, 2015) and completed a residency at The Elaine De Kooning House in East Hampton New York (2015).

Most recently, Lancaster was included in Figure4 (Glimpser, Baltic 39, Newcastle, 2017), The John Moores Painting Prize exhibition 2018 (Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, 2018), and was featured in Anomie's Anthology of British Painting (2018) and Phaidon's Vitamin P3 New Perspectives in Painting (2017).

The Visiting Artist’s Talk (VAT) series hosts talks by an exciting range of arts practitioners from around the world every Monday afternoon from 14:00 to 15:30 during teaching weeks.

All of our talks are compulsory for our Fine Art students but open to anyone else who would like to join us.
