How to behave online: Discussing the Ethics of Social Media

This event discusses some of the issues raised in the podcast episode of Ethics Untangled Joe and Jim recorded on the subject of how we should behave online.

The aim will be to dig a bit deeper into some of the ideas raised, including whether being more humane is the answer to our online struggles, and if so what that involves exactly.

There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share their thoughts on this fascinating and pressing topic.

Dr Joe Saunders is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Durham. He primarily works on ethics and agency in Kant and the post-Kantian tradition. He also has interests in the philosophy of love and media ethics.

Dr Jim Baxter is Consultancy and Ethics Team Leader at the IDEA Centre and the host of the Ethics Untangled podcast.
