Ethics and Malpractice in Higher Education short course 2025-26
Course overview
Course overview
In this course you’ll develop your knowledge and understanding of a range of ethical issues and aspects of malpractice in academic contexts by investigating various aspects of teaching and research practice. You’ll examine how these relate to individuals’ professional practices.
You’ll also develop your ability to analyse current issues, evaluate relevant research and to demonstrate application of knowledge to the field of practice.
This short course is a module taken from the MA in Teaching English for Academic Purposes. You’ll study this credit-bearing module as an individual course to widen your knowledge in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and develop your skills within the field. You’ll study online and part-time, on a course that’s designed to fit around your commitments. You’ll study with experts in the field at the University of Leeds Language Centre, who are directly involved in the practice and development of teaching English for Academic Purposes.
We have a range of Masters-level short courses available to help you develop as a practitioner of EAP, explore new approaches and prepare to take the next step in your career. You’ll gain postgraduate credits when you complete each course, and you can use these credits towards a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), or a Masters (MA). To find out more about building credits towards a qualification, contact our admissions team at lcspg@leeds.ac.uk.
