PhD student wins first prize in the International Postgraduate Students Conference

PhD student, Lauren Ford, won the first prize in the Textile Summit and Postgraduate Students Conference hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in June 2016.

Lauren’s presented her work on madder, an historical dye. Along with Lauren another three PhD students – Pendo Bigambo, Hyewon Lim and Valentina Perzolla – represented the School of Design to participate in this international event.

The Textile Summit and Postgraduate Students Conference is a biannual meeting supported by the International Textile Alliance: University of Leeds (UK), Shinchu University (Japan), North Carolina State University (USA), The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University (Hong Kong) and Manchester University (UK). The initiative is to promote the members of the Alliance and attract able applicants as well as a platform for research collaboration.
