As users demand higher levels of functionality and accessibility, effective user interface (UI) design is critical for product and service success.
Professional Academy for Creative Enterprise (PACE) on campus courses offer a range of in-person teaching and learning experiences at our University of Leeds campus.
This course provides the theory and practical skills to create compelling digital experiences. You will explore core principles of UI design, theories and UI elements, including colour, typography, and interactivities. You will gain innovative and effective interfaces while learning to evaluate and refine your work through usability testing with peers.
What Will You Learn?
- Core principles of UI design and related theories.
- Key UI elements including colour, typography, and interactives.
- Nielsen’s heuristics for evaluating interface usability and learn how to build a brand identity, mood board, and style tile.
- The full UI design process, from concept interpretation to delivery.
- How to plan and conduct usability testing to evaluate designs.
- Interpret project requirements and design aesthetically engaging and functionally robust solutions.
