This workshop is designed for Student Education and Experience Staff who are interested in developing their existing and future innovative practices through Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. It addresses:

  • What is Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)?
  • How does SoTL connect to the work of Student Education and Experience Staff working in AHC?
  • What are the barriers to Student Education and Experience Staff engaging with SoTL and how might we work to overcome them?
  • How might existing and future activity by Student Education and Experience Staff link more directly to curriculum development and pedagogic research?
  • How might Pedagogic Research in the Arts (PRiA) better support Student Education and Experience staff in developing their SoTL practices and fund innovation?

The session will be delivered by Nicki Sapiro (SESM in Music and PCI, and the SEE rep on the PRiA Steering Group) and Edward Venn (Director of PRiA); there will be ample time for questions and discussion at the end.

By the end of the session you will have a better idea of what SoTL is, how it relates to your role, and what opportunities there are for enhancing it.
