Bringing art professionals from around the world to Leeds
Bringing art professionals from around the world to Leeds
The Visiting Artists’ Talks (VAT) series brings art professionals from around the world to the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies and to the wider community of the university and the city.
Featuring artists, film-makers, poets, curators — ranging from the early-career to the globally renowned — the Visiting Artists’ Talks continue to be the most consistent public talks series dedicated to world-class contemporary arts practice in Leeds, delivered by practitioners for practitioners.
Our sixteenth guest in this year’s series is no exception. Joining us live from his studio in New York, Uruguayan artist Luis Camnitzer will discuss his life and work with documentation and stories running from the 1960s to present day, then take questions from the floor.
Camnitzer is one of the most influential artists working anywhere in the world today with a host of awards, exhibitions, publications and curatorial credits to his name. Full information about our guest and the event can be found here.
Every VAT is an open event to which students, staff and members of the public are welcome. Our last speaker for 2016-17, London-based painter Gabriella Boyd, will join us at the same time and place on Monday 20 March.
