Two IMS Members Honoured in the Women of Achievement Awards 2018
Two IMS members, Professor Claire Honess and Professor Julia Barrow, were honoured in the Women of Achievement Awards 2018, which celebrates the significant contributions and impact of winners.
Women of Achievement Awards
The Women of Achievement Awards are vital to the University's Leeds Gender Framework. Held for the fifth time this year, the awards celebrate the significant contributions and impact winners have made across the University and beyond; this year a total of 15 female colleagues and students were recognised. Those receiving awards were recognised by their peers, and share a common commitment to excellence in their fields.
More information about the Women of Achievement Awards, as well as a complete list of winners, can be accessed here.
IMS Women of Achievement
Two members of the Institute for Medieval Studies (IMS) have received Women of Achievement 2018 awards: Professor Claire Honess and Professor Julia Barrow.
Professor Claire Honess, now Professor of Italian Studies in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, in addition to the Dean of the Leeds Doctoral College, is a long-standing IMS member and supporter. She has been recognised for founding the Leeds Doctoral College.
Professor Julia Barrow, Professor of Medieval Studies in the School of History (IMS), has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to research and distinction in the humanities and social sciences. These qualities have resulted in being elected a Fellow of the British Academy.
Congratulations from the IMS to both winners for their achievements!
