Tess Hornsby Smith

Profile

My role is to work with academic and professional colleagues as well as our students to develop projects which will improve the student experience in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures at the University of Leeds.

I manage the annual research conference, the Undergraduate Research Experience, where our students showcase and celebrate their brilliant work. I am also the Faculty contact for the brilliant Laidlaw Scholarships as well as the Q Step Summer Research Placement scheme.

I am part of the FOAR2000 Reseach Placement teaching team.

As part of my University of Leeds Student Education Fellowship (USEF) I establised the Out There Challenge. This provides students with the opportunity to burst out of the university bubble, explore the city of Leeds, get creative without any judgement, it also gives them something to talk about in an interview situation!
