Ethics of Climate Services talk and networking event

MESH Leeds presents an evening of climate services, ethics, and networking.

MESH events provide a space where anyone interested in climate services can get together, share news, and discover what is happening within the field.

Throughout the evening, MESH Leeds will explore ethical questions in climate services from a diverse range of speakers with public, academic, and private climate service perspectives.

A round of lightning talks will introduce you to the ethical questions and dilemmas, exploring questions such as how should climate services be regulated, if at all, and who gets to decide? How do you ethically convey complex information to a non-expert audience without unintended consequences? How can we best consider vulnerable populations when conducting work in climate adaptation? What ethical issues are inherent in sustainable development, and how best can we mitigate these issues for future generations?

The rest of the evening will be dedicated to networking and discussion, and will be catered with canapés and drinks.

Anyone interested in climate services, climate adaptation, or ethics is welcome to attend, and we encourage a diversity of attendees from the public, academia, industry, and government.
