In 2019, The Garden won a BAFTA for Best Single Documentary for 'Gun No. 6'. The film charted the decade-long trail of destruction – 11 shootings and 3 murders – wreaked by Britain’s deadliest illegal gun. Nicola Hill is Joint CEO of The Garden, one of the UK’s leading premium factual producers. Nicola will be discussing how the process of getting from pitch to screen took a huge group effort, the story of how the film was made, and the behind-the-scenes roles that were all integral to the process.

Nicola Hill initially joined The Garden - responsible for multi-award-winning series '24 Hours in A and E' - in January 2012 as Director of Production. She oversaw all the company’s production and development output from budgeting to delivery and beyond, stepping up to the Managing Director role in March 2018 before being promoted to Joint CEO in 2021.  She works closely with the core management team to support the smooth running of the company and its productions, as well as maximising commercial opportunities.

Prior to joining The Garden, Nicola had worked in the industry for over 15 years in drama, film and commercials, latterly at BBC Films and then the former head of BBC Films’ company, Origin Pictures, where she managed the business affairs of the company and all of their projects.
