Plan • Prepare • Provide ― Art Teachers Residential

This 2.5 day residential course at the University of Leeds offers a unique opportunity for teachers and their schools to improve their delivery of both academic and practical art lessons.

Do you want to engage with pro-active ways to develop your teaching and artistic practice?

Do you want new ideas for planning your 2018/9 courses?

Are you looking for help to improve your delivery and results on the written element of the Art A Level?

Following the success of our inaugural residential event in 2017, the University of Leeds is once again offering a unique opportunity for teachers and their schools to improve their delivery of both academic and practical art lessons.

Feedback for last year’s participants includes:

“Absolutely fantastic residential… so refreshing to get out of the classroom and get inspired again. Each facilitator was outstanding, very passionate about art / art history which made me feel inspired again”

“Thank you so very much. I feel very lucky to have attended, and I actually feel more aware of how lucky I am to be an art teacher. We are ACE!!!”

“The whole three days have been inspiring, fast, filled with ideas and motivation. I have felt valued and challenged in equal measure”

To qualify for this free course, you must:

  • be teaching in a secondary or sixth form school or college
  • be a qualified teacher (at any level)

Last year’s participants are welcome to join us again to focus on the development of their practice, and we are also eager to welcome teachers who are new to the programme. We also welcome applications from teachers of all exam board specifications, but please note our particular focus is Edexcel, OCR and AQA.
