Visiting Artist's Talk - Lucia Pietroiusti

Lucia Pietroiusti studied critical theory and gender studies, focusing on trauma and mourning in writing and art at Birkbeck College (London) and Trinity College (Dublin).

As Curator of Public Programmes at the Serpentine Galleries (London) Lucia programmes and produces ‘Park Nights’ and ‘Saturdays Live’ artist commissions and performances, as well as ‘Serpentine Cinema’ films and other talks and conferences. Recent projects have included new live and film work by Helen Cammock, Sophie Cundale, Jesse Darling, Fleur Melbourn, Rie Nakajima, Beatriz Olabarrieta, Marianna Simnett and Zadie Xa. Lucia also co-curates the annual ‘Marathon’ festival series, which this year focussed on Miracles. Past positions included Assistant Curator, Exhibitions, Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dublin) and Assistant Editor of the magazine of the arts and letters, Boulevard Magenta (both 2008-2010).
