A new solo show of work by fine art alumna Ameya Pisupati opens this December in Hyderabad, India.
‘Read Between the Cracks’ is an exhibition of Ameya Pisupati’s batik-based textile works, on display at Ameya’s old high school in Hyderabad, India.
The exhibition explores the interactions of blue, the discipline of process and the quiet complexity revealed through wax and dye.
About the artist
Ameya Pisupati graduated with a BA Fine Art from the University of Leeds in 2025 and is currently working as an artist in residence at The Florence Trust in London, as part of an Artist in Residence programme.
Her practice involves making batik textile pieces:
“I use the time spent during the laborious processes of batik and animation to make calculated decisions about all the materials being used when creating.
“Wax and dye are extremely important parts of my process and this exhibition features pieces that I have experimented with using various dyes and wax proportions to achieve different results through the technique of batik.”
