Impulse is an exhibition of work by five level 2 fine art students from the University of Leeds.
In this exhibition, we wish to explore and combine a diverse approach to abstraction. Using artistic intuition and material experimentation, our works are rooted in responding to the physicality of the materials, embracing the spontaneity this involves, and using colour and nature to express our individuality.
This exhibition, therefore, offers a varied approach to painting and printmaking in a way that showcases our distinct work while drawing on the features that bring our works together.
We wish to show the fluid, the organic, and the natural in a way that uses bold colours and strong textures, with the aim of creating a space that invites the viewer to engage in the emotive responses and tactile qualities of abstraction.
