The Human Condition – exhibition

The Human Condition is an exhibition of work by some of our level one BA Fine Art students at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds.

As a group of nine emerging artists who share an interest in the history of portraiture, we explore our own take on the genre and its traditions through drawing, painting, photography and ceramics.

The Human Condition features a variety of styles, from traditional figuration to the semi-abstract. A range of people are depicted in the works; together, as an exhibition, we create a crowd.

The works are on a mix of surfaces and at different sizes, hung in a dynamic response to the Hyde Park Book Club snug. These works explore some of our relationships with people we care about, including ourselves.
