Text and the City: Feminist Reading Group
- Date: Saturday 23 March 2024, 11:30 – 12:30
- Location: Off-campus
- Cost: Free
Join us for the third meeting of a new feminist reading group at Leeds Art Gallery, on the theme of 'reclamation'.
The group is based on the exhibition Found Cities, Lost Objects which recently opened at Leeds Art Gallery.
In our meetings, we will be discussing articles, book chapters and internet content which examine the experience of the city as a woman or gender non-conforming person.
Through the themes of visibility, accessibility and reclamation, we will explore how people with intersecting privileges and limitations navigate the urban landscape.
In this last session, we will also include the opportunity to do some embroidery, which will then be displayed in the gallery’s Artspace.
The group is open to all (18+) and will take place in person and on Zoom.
