Visiting Artist’s Talk – Kerry Harker

For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk we welcome Kerry Harker.

Fine art alumni Kerry Harker presents the work of East Leeds Project, a practitioner-led visual arts organisation she co-founded with Claire Irving in the community of Gipton in east Leeds.

One of the founding co-directors of The Tetley, Kerry is a leading light in the evolution of Leeds as a city with a dynamic and varied visual art scene.

In this talk, Kerry presents the current production of East Leeds Project’s Moon Palace  a travelling mobile star gazing observatory. Moon Palace was commissioned in a co-production with Leeds 2023, Smeaton 300 (a year-long celebration of Leeds-based pioneering 18th century engineer John Smeaton) and the artistic atelier of Heather Peak and Ivan Morison.

Moon Palace is travelling the city and region enabling local people to gaze at the nighttime sky. Catch it before the end of 2023.
