TRACING ARGUMENTS is a one-day, student-run workshop that aims to provide a peer review platform for PhD students at all stages of their research.
The workshop sessions will focus on the crafting of argumentation. Gathering in small groups to discuss one another’s writing, we will exchange ideas for best practice, and formulate points of constructive criticism. All potential participants require to take part is a 1000 word extract of their own writing that foregrounds a developing argument within their larger research project.
As part of this workshop event, faculty members Helen Graham and Nick Thurston will present approaches to argumentation that engage the social and material aspects of language via attention to issues of site, collaboration, practice, and distribution.
We are planning for this event to be in person, but with the option of attending virtually.
