Profile

I joined Leeds University in 2025. My research interests include media effects, political communication, public opinion, and quantitative research methods. My latest research projects include “The new flow of news: how social network sites transform news organisation and citizens’ political behaviour,” supported by an ERC Horizon 2020 starting grant and “Media Shaped Representation” on the effects of social media political discourse on types of feeling of political representation.

I have authored co-authored over 30 articles over the years, including works published in the Journal of Communication, New Media and Society, The Information Society and Journalism.

Research interests

My research has primarily focused on citizens’ information repertoires: how information is gathered, processed, and its outcomes. More recently, my work has shifted towards the social processes that influence these behaviors. This change resulted from the realisation that, with the immense power gained by social media platforms, social motivations have become central.
