Dr Maria Georgoula

Profile

I obtained my PhD from the University of Leeds, School of Design in 2016. My research was in the area of colour discrimination and colour difference evaluation (Thesis: Assessing Colour Differences Using Simulated Lighting Stimuli). I have also obtained an MSc in Colour and Imaging Science from the University of Leeds, School of Chemistry in 2010. My undergraduate degree was in Technology of Graphic Arts from the Athens University of Applied Sciences, learning for printing technologies, graphic design, packaging and everything from pre-press to post-press processes. 

I joined the University of Leeds in 2011 as a PGR Demonstrator and Tutorial Assistant, and later as a Module Assistant. I also joined the Programmes and Assessment (Exams and Progress) providing exams support in 2013. In 2017, I was promoted to an Exams Sub-office Manager (Special Circumstances Exams). In 2019, I joined the Disabilities Services and provided support to students through the service. I moved to the Faculty of Health and Medicine in 2020 as REF Impact Science Writer where I gained experience in developing research impact. My current role is in the School of Media and Communication where I provide support for everything related to research and impact development.
