Owen Seabrook wins place on student leadership programme in New York

BA Film, Photography and Media student, Owen Seabrook, has gained a place on the University's student leadership programme in New York.

Owen (pictured fifth from the left) is one of only 15 undergraduate students at the University of Leeds to get the opportunity to travel to New York in June 2017 on the Leeds to New York student leadership programme

The programme is funded by the Footsteps Fund and organised by the University of Leeds with delivery partner Common Purpose Student Experience. It combines theory, innovative practice and hands-on experience with 7 days of intensive workshops and events.

Students connect with alumni in both Leeds and New York, develop leadership skills and gain international experience that will provide a real differentiator in the competitive graduate jobs market.

Owen is a second year student who runs a social media production company called Seabrook Media, which was a finalist Trading Company in the 2016 University of Leeds Business Plan Competition. He will be tweeting about his experiences in New York using the hashtag #LeedsToNewYork
