University of Leeds journalism graduates win three RTS North West Awards
The Royal Television Society North West Awards celebrate the best of animation, factual, comedy and entertainment, news, short feature and drama in the North West region.
Three former University of Leeds journalism students have won three RTS North West Awards.
Peter Wallis-Tayler and Becky Houlihan from Dragonfly won two awards for Best Production (Craft) and Best Factual Series for Ambulance on BBC One.
Rachel Mairs from ITV News Granada Reports won Best Regional News Programme for an ITV programme she researched about suicide.
Cat Lewis, Chair of RTS North West, said: “Over the last year there’s been a huge amount of growth in the North West’s TV sector and we’re extremely proud of the breadth, quality and creativity of content coming out of the region.”
