Journalism student wins national award

Congratulations to Katya Fowler who has won the Undergraduate News Award at the Royal Television Society national student awards.

Huge congratulations to School of Media and Communication graduate, Katya Fowler (Journalism, 2019), who has taken home the Undergraduate News Award for her piece ‘It Takes All Sorts’, described as a “convincing investigation with consumer journalism as its beating heart”.

The Royal Television Society national student awards competition is open to more than 60 universities in the UK that offer journalism programmes, and it celebrates the best audiovisual work created by students.

Katya graduated in 2019 and now works as a video journalist for a local TV service in Kent.
