The Development Studies research group is interested in how arts and humanities research can help to better understand, and provide innovative solutions to, some of the world’s most pressing development challenges.

We focus in particular on conflict and humanitarian action, the building and sustaining of creative economies, and the formation and conservation of culture and heritage.

Language at Leeds

Language at Leeds brings together professionals within the University involved in the study of language, connecting individuals and groups to support research across various disciplines. The central tenet of the centre is an interdisciplinary approach to addressing and understanding issues relating to language, linguistics and communication.
