The LHRI is pleased to welcome Prof. Myra Strober, a leading expert on interdisciplinarity, to give a lecture on "Overcoming Barriers to Interdisciplinary Work".
Prof. Strober, a labour economist at Stanford University, recently published Interdisciplinary Conversations: Challenging Habits of Thought (Stanford University Press: 2010). The book is an important study of the hidden dynamics of interdisciplinary research, and the barriers which can impede that research: disciplinary habits of mind, disciplinary cultures, and interpersonal relationships.
