Poet of the Great War: Ivor Gurney

Dr Philip Lancaster, accompanied by the pianist Gavin Roberts, will deliver the 6th annual British Academy/LHRI Lecture

Ivor Gurney (1890 - 1937) was both a poet and a composer. In this event, talk, poetry readings and song combine in a sequence exploring Gurney's responses to literature, landscape, history, memory and the First World War.

After the performance there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, followed by a drinks reception in the School of Music foyer.

The event is being held in association the Cultural Institute and the Ilkley Literature Festival, as part of the University of Leeds' cultural programme commemorating the end of the First World War.
