Upcoming workshop: Supporting students' transition from school to university

On Wednesday 13th March we have a workshop to discuss our students' transition from school to university

This transition has direct links to student retention, student well-being, and student satisfaction and attainment.

School is a very different learning environment from university, with different levels of support, modes of assessment, expectations, and study skills, and it is possible we might not fully recognise how students need to adapt to make a successful transition.

This workshop will bring together academic staff, support staff, A level students, and 1st year undergraduates to help us gain a better understanding of what students need in their first year at Leeds. Speakers include Dr Joan O’ Mahony (Senior Advisor, Student Retention & Success, University of York) and Dr Ruth Payne (Associate Professor in Student Education, University of Leeds).
