Profile
I am the Communications Manager for the Centre for Cultural Value, a five-year initiative based at the University of Leeds that will create a better understanding of the differences that arts, heritage and culture make to society.
I’ve worked in communications roles in the cultural sector for over twenty years. Between 2014 -2019 I was National Communications Manager for the Creative People and Places network, a network of 30 projects based in areas where people have fewer opportunities to take part in the arts. It puts decisions in the hands of local communities who shape a programme of arts events that are relevant and meaningful to the people and place.
I also worked as a communications specialist at Arts Council England for ten years and before that was Marketing and Development Manager at Leeds College of Music. Earlier in my career I worked in children’s book publishing including roles at Orion Publishing Group and Random House.
I’m a trustee of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and a former trustee of Hebden Bridge Community Association, which owns and runs the Town Hall Hebden Bridge on behalf of the community.
