Dr Carly O'Neill-Barrett


I joined the School of Media and Communication in 2013 after working in industry in diverse marketing strategy postions. My reseach builds on my professional experience and focusses on ideology in consumer culture and looks at the construction and representation of morality and ideology in contemporary marketing communication practices. My PhD thesis is titled ‘The Cynic’s guide to shopping for morals. On the commodification of morality in consumer culture’.
