Rev. Dr. Jamys Carter

Profile

I joined the University of Leeds (Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute) in March 2020.

Prior to that I completed my PhD at Leeds (2020).

Prior to that I completed my Masters by Research, also at Leeds (2016).

Many years previously I gained a BA Hons at the University of Birmingham (1995).

Research interests

My main interests revolve around views of women in ordained ministry within Pentecostal churches. This has taken me through a journey of exploration of women ministers’ experiences, leading to a study of the use of Pentecostal hermeneutics by lay leaders in their consideraion of women in ministry.

I have side interests in Pentecostal history and Biblical studies.
