Leeds Arts Humanities Research Institute
Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute
We support cross-disciplinary research in the arts and humanities, providing events and office space for postdoctoral visiting staff and scholars.
Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute
The Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute exists to bring together research from across the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures at the University of Leeds.
Led by its Director, Professor Alison Fell, and acting Deputy Director, Associate Professor David Higgins, our staff strive to create opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary work for researchers at every stage of their careers, by supporting the development of emerging research projects, building a context for creative scholarly discussions, and helping with every stage in the process of winning and running successful research bids.
Facilities available include office space for visiting postdoctoral fellows and professors, and fully equipped seminar and meeting rooms.
We work closely with the Cultural Institute, who work to foster interdisciplinary research and public engagement events on culture, in line with the University's Culture research theme.
We are a member of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes and of the Consortium of Institutes of Advanced Studies.
Contact the LAHRI/Where to find us
We've put together a list of useful LAHRI contacts, including the administrator and director, and a link to our location on the campus map so that you can find us on the University campus.
LAHRI Fellows
We support an expanding community of Visiting Postdoctoral Fellows and Professors, whose stays last anywhere from one month to a year or longer.
Fellows in the Institute are assigned office space, have access to the University libraries and computer facilities across campus and online, and access to pre-award team members who can assist with the preparation of funding applications.
Sadler seminar series
The Sadler series supports colleagues wishing to pursue research questions that, to be answered well, require collaboration.
Research and fellowships
We offer a number of opportunities to strengthen and enrich the intellectual life of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.
