School of Music - Applicant visit day

Applicant visit day

School of Music and Centenary Hall

Congratulations on being invited to a School of Music post-applicant visit day.

The day will provide a unique insight into studying within the School of Music. You'll have the opportunity to meet Music staff and current students, and will, of course, be able to ask us any questions that you have.

Your visit day

Depending on the course you have applied for, your day will include either an interview or, if you are being considered for the BMus Performance course, an audition - only BMus applicants need to bring their instruments.

Interview

The informal interview lasts 15-20 minutes and is the chance to tell us about your musical background, interests, experience and what you hope to get out of the course.

Your interview will either be in the 10am or the 2.30pm slot - we will confirm your specific interview time when you arrive. If for travel reasons you would prefer a later or an earlier interview slot please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate this.

Audition

If you are coming for an audition, we will have contacted you separately with the time and requirements for this, but do let us know if you need any further information.

We very much look forward to meeting you.

Directions

As you stand facing the Parkinson Building steps, turn left and continue straight on past the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff (white, glass) building on your right. Continue down Cavendish Road - the School of English (red brick terrace) will be on your right. Look for the gold dome on top of the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall – the entrance to the School of Music is on the right before this.

Please report to the reception desk at the School Music once you arrive.

Parking

Due to the limited spaces on campus, we advise parking off campus.

Maps and directions to the University also contain details of alternative car parks.

There are blue badge bays situated around the campus, including right outside the School of Music - please do get in touch with us if you need further information, or would like us to book one of these for you.
