Profile

I completed my MA at Bilkent University Department of History. My MA studies focused on the Military Orders in the Kingdom of Cyprus, predominantly the Teutonic Order in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. I started my Ph.D. at the same university in 2017. My research focuses on the reign of King Peter I of Lusignan, including his visit to England as part of his European Tour. I am currently on a research mission as a PGR student at the University of Leeds, and my studies are funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.

Teaching experience:

2017-2021 Bilkent University PT Instructor, HIST200: History of Turkey. I taught the course, which is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students are encouraged to study on a micro-history topic of their choice, as a team. Within the course, I also aimed to teach: detecting sources, making archival research; choosing a subject, and formatting a Chicago-style paper.
