I began my PhD in January 2018 after completing an MA in Historical Studies at The Univeristy of Lincoln. My MA thesis examined changing representations of cross-dressing from 1870 to 1930.
Throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries cross-dressing has formed a significant part of British entertainment culture. My current research explores the relationship between cross-dressing and masculinity in Yorkshire, with a focus on space, place, and acceptance.
My research interests include, LGBTQ+ histories, gender history, regional history, and the relationship between space and gender.
