John Barnard Postgraduate Scholarship

- Summary: John Barnard, now Professor Emeritus at the University of Leeds, has had a long and distinguished career in the School of English as Head of Department more than once. A respected teacher, literary scholar, editor and bibliographer, he has an enviable range of expertise in poetry and drama, and is best known for his work on Restoration comedy and the poetry of Pope and Keats.
- Value - what money is on offer: Up to £14,500 (full tuition fee paid at UK rate + £5000 maintenance. For international students, £14,500 to be deducted from tuition fee if on Creative Writing programme. For all other programmes, £14,000).
- Who is eligible: Applicants with the equivalent of at least a UK 2.1 Bachelors degree in English or a closely related subject. Applicants should also have an IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent. Applicants must have made an application to the School for an academic place prior to submitting their scholarship application. The Scholarship Committee considers all applications on academic merit alone.
