What are philosophers for? Why bother doing philosophy?
Dr Seamus Bradley will provide one answer to these questions, at least for philosophers of science. The basic idea is that philosophers can usefully act as mediators in interdisciplinary scientific disagreements. The main example he will discuss is econophysics: the use of statistical mechanics models in economics.
