Roxana Crisólogo - International Writers at Leeds

Join Peruvian-Finnish poet Roxana Crisólogo, who will discuss her life and work and read a selection of her poems, some of which will be translated for La Crátera de Artemis by Leeds students

Next Thursday 28th November from 6pm Roxana Crisólogo will offer an interactive talk, accompanied by a poetry reading, as part of the International Writers at Leeds Programme.

This community event is open to everyone. It will be held at the Business School Maurice Keyworth LT (G.02), University of Leeds, and has also been sponsored by the Instituto Cervantes in Leeds.

Roxana is a poet and cultural activist living in Helsinki and has a long list of publications in several countries. She is the founder of Sivuvalo Platform a multilingual literature association aimed to promote and make visible immigrant language literature written in Finland.

Roxana ́s poetry rewrites official stories by including traditionally silenced voices to construct a new decolonized epic with new heroes, referents and paradigms.

As part of the Crátera de Ártemis Winter Edition, students of the University of Leeds will be translating some of Roxana´s poems into English, with the contribution of The Centre for Translation Studies. The work translated will be presented during the event.

Event in Spanish, Free Entrance. All Welcome
