What you always wanted to know about the Bible but were afraid to ask

Join Professor Joanna Stiebert at the event in Otley, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Professor Stiebert (Professor of Biblical Studies, and Otley resident) has organised two drop-in events on Monday, January 30  (11am–1pm & 4pm–6pm) at the United Reformed Church on Bridge Street in Otley.

Come and ask questions and chat with biblical scholars from Botswana, the USA, UK, Uganda, Germany, South Africa, and New Zealand, of multiple Christian denominations and of no religion.

As part of a research grant from the AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) I am organising a social engagement event bringing biblical and religious studies scholars to Otley for a community event. This will be a sort of Question Time and is part of a bigger project about using the Bible for social justice and activist purposes.

If you have questions about biblical texts, history, or events, about theology, or biblical languages - we-ll try to answer them! Everyone is welcome.
